Tax

All UK employers must deduct income tax from their employees’ wages (how much tax your employee pays varies according to the amount of their earnings). There are also employer and employee contributions for National Insurance (NI), which is similar to social security as know in most countries. All taxes and the National Insurance are withheld via the HM Revenue and Customs (also known as HMRC), using an automated system called Pay As You Earn (PAYE).

Labor laws

The United Kingdom has very tight and strongly regulated labor laws. The United Kingdom is one of the safest countries to work in because of its strict monitoring of labor disputes. A few of the factors that are considered when forming the labor laws includes:

  • Discrimination of age
  • Disability
  • Equal pay
  • Parental leave
