WHY IS THE NETHERLANDS SUCH AN ATTRACTIVE COUNTRY FOR EXPATS?

There are currently around 200,000 expats living and working in the Netherlands. But why is it that so many people want to come to the Netherlands to be an expat? Here’s are some reasons:

For many expats there are regulations in the Netherlands that make it attractive to settle in the Netherlands. Under certain conditions they can receive 30% of their gross salary tax-free. The duration of this so called 30% tax free ruling is five years.

The Dutch people are the best non-native speakers of English in the world. This makes it so much easier for people who speak English to fit in. Not only is it easier to integrate but also it makes it easier to do your job and children will have an easier time when they go to school as well.

For most people the most important thing in their life is their family and children. With the Netherlands being ranked number one when it comes to happiest children in 2020, that makes a good reason for many people to go to the Netherlands as an expat. Furthermore the Netherlands has a great education system with lots of universities.

The healthcare system in the Netherlands is ranked as number 3 in the world. The Dutch healthcare system scores well in terms of quality of care and customer friendliness. In fact, on the basis of 48 different quality indicators, including information provision, quality of hospital care, accessibility and medication use, the Netherlands has the best healthcare system in Europe.
